Hi all,
I’m considering to sell my Motif ES6, but I would like to keep three wonderful sound icons in plugin format: PLG-150VL, PLG-150DX and PLG-150AN. Since new Yamaha keyboards don’t accept plugin synthesis, in order to use these boards I’m looking for MU128 or MU2000 on e-Bay. I had also Motif Rack ES in mind, but it is much expensive and accept only two boards, while MUs are capable to accept all three boards.

Alex,
I bought a MU2000 with PLG-100VH, PLG-150AN and PLG-150VL installed last year for a good price. They work OK with the MU2000 but I haven’t really done much in-depth programming with them and music. Also all the manuals and books that I’ve downloaded are in Japanese as I think it was only released there. I had used the VH in my previous PSR S900, and missed out on an EX5 for the VL capability. I also have a BC3 breath controller that I wanted to use for the VL - this is where the Motif ES has a major advantage over a MU module. Ended up getting a Keylab 25 controller with the BC input.

Alex,
Hi jimbowal, Thanks a lot for your answer! I’m also have BC3a and was thrilled when I for the first time play VL board in ES. Since I also have Rack XS and MOXF and want to keep this nice controller, I have bought MIDI Solutions Breath Controller. It accept input from BC3/3a and have to be connected to other keyboard or tone generator via standard MIDI cable. That’s why I’m considering MU2000. I also hope that guides from MU128 could help, since I’m not familiar with Japanese. Alex |

Alex,
Yes, I have read it and that’s why I’m a little bit worried not to lose all PLG advantages, esp. boards programming capabilities. I have several voice banks prepared for all three boards and want to use them.

I am not sure about statements in the previous posts regarding MU2000EX, since I found brochure (given in attachment) where on the last page there are photos with all three mentioned plug-in editors (DX, AN, VL) and with scheme that includes editing capability. Since all text is in Japanese, I’m not sure that I could use voice banks created in those editors if I put my PLG150 boards in MU2000.
