I’m new to syses and am struggling a bit with it. How can I get the MOXF8 to recognize sysex messages to change modes (VOICE, PERFORM, etc.)? Whenever I send one of the following syses messages, I don’t see any changes on the MOXF8.
1. For Voice mode, use the sysex string: F0.43.10.7F.03.0A.00.01.00.F7
For example: If I send F0 43 10 7F 03 0A 00 01 01 F7, I’d think that the MOXF8 would change to the PERFORM mode and show this mode change in the LCD.
Is this correct?
Any ideas? I’m using DP7 and believe I’m setting this up properly (I think). :-) Thanks -Mike |

You’ve got the general idea, but the SysEx messages you posted are for the Motif XS, not the MOXF. The difference is in the Model ID byte(s). For the XS, Model ID is the fifth byte, 03. For the MOXF, the Model ID is two bytes, 1C 00. Replacing the fifth byte 03 with 1C 00 will correct the messages you posted so that they’re proper for a MOXF.
These should work with the MOXF:
F0 43 10 7F 1C 00 0A 00 01 00 F7 // Voice
See the MOXF6/MOXF8 Data List…
