Please excuse me as I’m a complete noob to my MOXF6, but I am computer literate so not too bad!

I’ve used my keyboard for a few weeks and saved about 25 voices as Favourites. This morning I decided to do a firmware update and I did a backup all to USB before doing so.

I’m now on the latest firmware but my favourites have gone. I’ve searched and found previous posts about restoring favourites but don’t understand the replies !

If anyone can help, I would be grateful as it would save me a few hours trying to find them all again.

Thanks

I tried to load my saved file but I unticked the ‘System’ option when I loaded from the USB drive as I wasn’t sure if this would overwrite the updated firmware that I’d just put on.

If I load from the saved file (taken before the firmware updated) will it give me my favourites back… and also will it interfere with the new firmware that I loaded?

Mark the “with System” box. That “System” is not the Operating System (OS/firmware).

Brilliant, thanks very much. I have my favourite back again :-)

It’s a steep learning curve with one of these machines isn’t it!

Somewhat, but worth the effort.

I can understand why.

Welcome to Motifator and I’m glad things worked out for you. Good job with the back-up, this is an important aspect of the machine when altering its contents.

I really understand your trouble!

No, you don’t.

And once again you eagerness to share your frustration due to this has made it difficult for someone who seeks assistance. Please take a moment to understand the difference between this post and the one you have cited. This would benefit not only yourself, but as we’ve seen, others as well.

Thanks for the welcome. I think I’ll be spending a few happy hours on these forums in the future to supplement my knowledge of the MOXF6.
