I tend to use a lot of outside voices on the motif. I was wondering what if I run out of the 256 user slots provided on the Motif ES? Where else can I save voices?

Are you playing those Voices live, using them in Performances, or in Songs/Patterns? Please provide some details - there could be options, depending on how you’re using those Voices.

Well I would most likely use them live. But I’d like to hear what else I can do. And do the voices use my RAM memory?

You could obviously load a new “All” or “All Voice” file with other Voices if 256 at a time weren’t enough for a live set.

In addition to the User Voice locations, up to 16 Mixing Voices can be stored per Song/Pattern, with a maximum of 256 in total. See pages 105-106 and 159 of the ES Owner’s Manual. They can be played live, even set up as splits or layers if the Receive Channel is properly set for each Part. In the ES, Mixing-related data is stored in DRAM, so it must be SAVED to external memory and reloaded when the power is cycled. This DRAM is not the DIMM memory. See pages 185-187 of the Owner’s manual for details of the ES memory.
