Can anyone show me how to install RAM carefully into the Motif ES without zapping it with electricity? Thanks in advance! |

DIMMs are reasonably resistant to being “zapped”. To minimize the chance of damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD), don’t run across carpeting during dry weather. You could take more extensive precautions such as not wearing synthetic fiber clothing (cotton only), and/or using an antistatic (ESD) wrist strap, etc., but that’s rarely necessary. Try to obtain DIMMs guaranteed to be compatible with the ES - not all are. If DIMMs don’t work correctly, it’s much more likely that they’re incompatible than that they were damaged during installation. |
