How difficult is it to change the memory battery inside the Motif Classic 7?

Thanks
Jim

What indication do you have that the battery is needing to be changed?

Thanks for your interest.

No indication of trouble, so far, BUT I’ve heard that the batteries last 7 to 10 years.  My board is older than that range and I am anticipating a problem.

If the change is as simple as taking off the bottom and plunking in a new battery, then I’m up for that now.  If it requires a multi-level disassembly of the Motif, then I’ll have second thoughts.

Have you swapped a battery on a Motif 7 classic?

Regards
Jim

The Motif Classic displays “Change internal battery” when the battery gets low. At that time, backing up your data should be done before replacement.

The Classic uses a CR2450 “coin” cell. Once the bottom cover is removed…

...it should become obvious where the battery is located.

See pages 16-17.

I have an XS6 and XF6, which rely on flash memory, so neither requires battery replacement.
