Hi everyone.

I have a problem with my new MOX8. I want to connect it to the computer because I also have installed the cubase 6. So I tried to install the keyboards drive from Yamaha but i couldn’t.

It shows an error message that there is no device is connected.
I have a Windows 8 and 64 bits.

Thanks in advance

Hi mikediego77,

Welcome to Motifator.

When you say the keyboard’s drive, I’m presuming you mean the driver?

The specific driver that you need in order to to make your MOX8 work via the USB ‘To Host’ with your computer and Cubase is the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver

Is that what you installed?

Hi philwoodmusic

Well I have already solved the problem.
And regarding your question, no, I was trying to install another driver. (the one that was suggested in the user’s manual) But the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver works perfectly.

Now I have a problem trying to record in performance mode. I connect the MOX8 with the computer and when I try to record in performance mode it doesn`t work (It’s as if I were recording in voice mode). Also I`m not able to record and audio track. Just a MIDI, and I saw a lot of videos of guys recording the sounds of MOX8 as an audio track (not a microphone or guitar connected with MOX8, I mean the sounds of the MOX8)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you managed to record on an audio track in any mode yet?

No. Just MIDI track, and only in voice mode.
Even in voice mode I can’t record an audio track.

Stay in voice mode for now.

What happens if you create a stereo audio track in Cubase, assign MOX inputs 3 and 4 to it and set Cubase in record, then play the voice on the MOX?

Voices come out of USB outputs 3 and 4 by default, and not 1 and 2 (The A/D inputs come out of 1 and 2)
