I have an interesting idea for all of us Motif XF owners. Every sound/performance has different samples assigned to different velocities, ranges on the keyboard, etc. This is valid for a lot of incredibly large amount of sounds on the XF. If each of us finds different techniques for playing the patches (voices) on the Motif and find that a velocity, switch, pedal or knob creates a different and useful sound, let’s all share it with each other. Only recently, I (being old school) was playing the bass sounds not thinking to try the upper registers on my XF8 that there were cool samples up there! We can all work together to assemble this. A document from Yamaha would be thousands of pages to accomplish this! Good sample hunting! |

I can start the conversation with this. A lot of the guitars and basses have extra samples on the upper 2 octaves of the XF8 or with using the octave up button on the XF7 or XF6. |
