Hello, Im entirely new to this website and would like to ask why my MOXF won’t connect to my Mac. I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and have Cubase AI7, “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V1.8.6” and “Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver V1.3.2” installed but for some reason the MOXF won’t show up on the Sound/Midi Studio. Can someone tell me whats wrong? I don’t know if it makes any difference, but i also have a Roland USB-Midi Interface connected to a “Digitech Whammy Guitar Pedal” in the other USB port (I want to recreate the guitar effect in “Map of the Problematique” by Muse by using Cubase) is this conflicting with the MOXF? (The MOXF does not work if i have the Interface plugged out either.) Sorry if this is confusing, I’m Norwegian. Image Attachments

If you have the drivers installed, you should be able to connect the MOXF via USB and see it in Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup on your Mac. If you do not see the MOXF there, let us know. It is always best to connect the USB cable, turn the MOXF on, then turn the computer on. In some cases if the computer is already on when you plug in audio and MIDI devices they are not properly recognized. Having the other device connected should not matter. |

Thank you for the answer. I did what you told me to do, but still it doesn’t show up.
The picture shows the Midi Studio, it just doesn’t come up. Don’t mind the Norwegian. ;) Image Attachments

You should install only ”Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V1.9.0-2 for Mac”. Version 1.8.6 is Windows only and USB-MIDI driver is not intended for MOXF that uses USB both for MIDI and audio.

The Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V1.9.0-2 for Mac is indeed the current Mac OS X 10.7.5 / 10.8.x / 10.9.x / 10.10.x version. However, version 1.86 was available not only for Windows (both 32-bit and 64-bit) but also for the Mac. The Motif XF and MOXF should not be confused. The Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver V1.3.2 was meant for the Motif XF (which doesn’t have USB-audio capability), not the MOXF. If it’s currently installed, uninstall it. |

Thank You Alex and 5pinDIN for quick answers. I have now now uninstalled the old driver and re installed the new one although its still not working… It just doesn’t come up in the Midi Studio. Is there something i might have messed up or not done properly on the MOXF itself? |

See p.149 of your reference manual. You must set MIDI IN/OUT to USB. Have you done this? |
