Hello guys,

If I use the FW16E Expansion kit, can I use it if my PC/tablet doesn’t have an FW port, but just a USB port?
On the Internet I found a lot of FW to USB cables.

For those who have a Mac with a Thunderbolt port, Apple sells an adapter that does actually convert to FW and will work with the FW16E.

Otherwise, your laptop PC would need to be able to accept a FireWire PCMCIA or ExpressCard.

From a hardware standpoint, the Apple adapters apparently work fine, with full functionality. However, There may be driver issues with macOS Catalina, although not with earlier versions…
