Dear MOX-users,

All of a sudden, my MOX’s ARP is turs on, when powering on the Keyboard.
the PowerOnMode is: Voice(USR1) (A01) and this Voice is programmed with the ARP turned off.

-When changing VOICES and returning to the USR1-A01 VOICE, the ARP is, like expected, off.

-When unplugging the Volume-Pedal (while the MOX is on), the ARP button turns off.

-When powering on the MOX, without an FC7, everything works as expected.

Any ideas, what the problem could be?

Greetings

Which jack are you plugging the FC7 into?

In the assignable foot switch, beside the sustain foot switch.

The FC7 isn’t a switch - it normally would be plugged into the FOOT CONTROLLER jack.

Since you plugged it into the FOOT SWITCH (ASSIGNABLE) jack, what happens depends on how that jack is assigned. See page 146 of the MOX Reference Manual. Note that one of the possible settings is ”arp sw”. I suspect that’s what’s causing the behavior you’re experiencing.

FS (Foot Switch Control Number)
From this display you can determine the Control Change number generated by using the Footswitch connected to the
FOOT SWITCH [ASSIGNABLE] jack. Keep in mind that if the same MIDI Control Change messages as set here are
received from an external device, the internal tone generator also responds to those messages as if the Footswitch of
the instrument itself was used.
Settings: off, 1 – 95, arp sw, play/stop, PC inc, PC dec, octave reset

Thank you very much! I had the setting: 96-ARP SWITCH!
I changed to the foot controller jack and everything works fine!

You’re welcome - I’m glad that resolved the problem.

I use the FC7 pedal with my XS6 for volume control.  In the past, I have run the pedal in-line to the mixer.  1/4” cable out of the left out of the XS6 into the FC7 and then another 1/4” cable from the FC7 out to the mixer. Works fine.

I have been reading about the use of the FC7 connected to the FC1 to control volume and have been trying to set that up.  In control set for the selected voice, my source is the FC1, and my destination is volume.  I have the FC7 connected to the FC1 port with a 1/4” cable.  In Play Mode I have turned the volume down to 0.  Nothing happens.  No Sound even.

Yet, I can produce the volume changes with the MW and AS1 or AS2.

I am listening for the volume changes with headphones plugged into the phone jack.

Any suggestions?

thanks - YH

Sorry, but are you sure the pedal you’re referring to is a Yamaha FC7? I’ve never seen an FC7 that could be used in-line. The ones I’m familiar with have a single captive cord with a TRS plug at the end. If yours is an FC7, was it modified?

Thanks for the quick replies.  My error - it is an FC9 not an FC7 - so I will keep it “in line” between the keyboards and the mixer.  At least I learnt a bit more about Control Set.

thanks - YH
