Using Bad mister’s tutorial basic audio recording.

Have all the drivers - everything is updated.

I’m using Cubase AI7.0.7

I prepare the MOXF - everything follows correctly

Go to Cubase AI project

It doesn’t ask to set up MOXF as Master ASIO

Don’t see EMPTY Template - or MORE options

When I Verify Port Setup - screen is VERY different from the tutorial - Screenshot attached

MIDI Port set up has
Device as Windows MIDI -
Port System Name is 2-Yamaha MOXF6/XF8-1

In all MIDI is set up as directed.

Remote devices set up as directed.

VST Audio System shows that Yamaha Steinberg USB Audio is selected a ASIO driver

When I click on that - it shows 4 inputs - 2 outputs from MOXF

VST Connections looks pretty much like BM’s screenshot.

Don’t see a track view window - but click on the dark grey area of main screen - nothing…

Go to Project - add track - everything is greyed out.

At this point - nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi there

Hard to follow exactly what goes one for you but two basic things to test and make sure.
First, since you also have Cubase Elements (link on your desktop), do you have the same problem in that software?

Also, you DO switch on your MOXF before starting Cubase?
The only times I’ve had issues here is if I’m launching Cubase too soon after switching on the keyboard. We’re only talking seconds to boot up, but on a couple of occasions that has been enough. ;-)

Hey I got it working! Thanks!

This article on yamahasynth.com worked better for me!

Now on to the next thing I can’t do! But I feel good right now!
