Hi,
I would like to play a Kabasa sound from one of the drum kits, but the sound only triggers when the key is hit, is there a way to set the key to repeat the sound on release as well?

Its hard to keep pushing the key on every 1/8 note.

Motif XF

Thanks

Paul D

Oh, The arpeggiator......yes, ok, will look into that.
Still learning the XF, my main instrument is guitar.
Thanks!

Another possibility: you can use a Time Delay as Ins Effect, set to 1/8th as delay time.
Or: If you are experienced in voice editing, you can add an element to a voice, that starts, when the key is released ( but this is not possible with drum kits, you have to create the Kabasa as normal voice).

Why not assign the sound to an additional note on the keyboard and use two fingers?

Thanks for the suggestions,
The delay may work but i am concerned about timing in a live gig, I believe there is a button to tap for timing, but i have other parts to play as well

I did try the 2 keys with 2 fingers, that will work for now.
Im also looking into using the sequencer with the click track for the drummer as well. Tried to stay away from that but it can add so much.

Thanks again :)

I don’t have the XF but still the XS, so maybe I’m just trolling around. But in the XS it is possible to copy your element(s) and set your XA parameter of the copied element to key-off. Then you’ll have an element that sounds when the key is pressed and an element that sounds when the note is released.
This should work as long as your original sound consists of mostly 4 elements as otherwise you would ofcourse exceed the max number of elements. I would be surprised if the XF wouldn’t have this feature anymore.

EDIT: I noticed you played it from a drumkit, you’ll have to recreate the sound in a regular voice first.
