Tracks transmit. You can set the channel they transmit on.

Parts receive (they don’t transmit). You can set the channel they receive on.

Kudos to you, chasmanian, for getting things working, and to cmayhle for getting you there. Knowing the above is important to understanding why those things work the way they do.

thank you very much for all of that 5pinDIN.
am very grateful to you and cmayhle, for all the help you both have given me.
also, btw (this is for everyone), I have been playing my XF8 quite a bit lately.
I am so blown away by the quality of some the VOICES and PERFORMANCES.
mind you, not all. many of them, I am not nuts about.
but there ARE some that are so incredibly good. the XF8 is like a magic box. a magical musical instrument. no words to describe how good it is. it’s like heaven, man.
the quality of some of the lead voices, the amazing cool things that synth sounds do, with aftertouch and all, and velocity of key presses, the beautiful percussion, the beautiful arps........I mean come on, really.........
for the first few months that I had it, I sometimes felt like the learning curve was so steep........learning about Relativity in astrophysics was easier........hahahhaha
ok, fast forward to today.
the Motif is like a gift from the gods.......

Agreed - nothing is perfect, and sometimes what fits one user’s needs doesn’t work for someone else. Pick and choose, there’s plenty to choose from.

The deeper the well, the sweeter the water. Keep digging. :-)
