Hi guys, I have a big problem with my new mo6.
I use the song mode to switch the voices from one track to another without stopping the sounds.

Don’t sustain across the track change and it should do what you want....have you tried this yet? |

I have to sustain because I can’t allow the sound to go down during the passage from one track to the other. The lack of the sound is too evident. The other hand is busy playing something else with another keyboard. I need to sustain to let the left hand releasing the keys and pressing the button to change the track. In the motif classic, this was the only way to change sounds without stops, but here it doesn’t work, or better, it works but the previous sound remains and there’s no way to stop it. |

Did you even try what I suggested? When you change tracks, the notes on the first track should go into release; if the release time is long (you can always grab the release knob to extend it as you play the last notes) the notes should not be cut off. When you step on the sustain pedal you send a message to set CC64 to 127 on the first track. After you change tracks and step off the sustain pedal, now CC64 goes to 0 on your second track. Inother words the first track never sees the second message. You probably guessed that ;) Now if what you really want is to be able to sustain the notes on the first track for some amount of time after you start playing on the second track, you can’t do it with the sustain pedal. Why it ever worked on your Classic I have no idea...it should not have. That points to a possible cockpit error...some setting you made on the Classic that you did not make on your MO. Do you still have the Classic so you can compare settings? |

I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to explain to me. Anyway I still have the Motif classic; that’s my main keyboard; the mo6 is the backup keyboard for little shows. The classic is perfectly working. I posted the same question in an Italian music forum (I’m from Italy) and they told me this is a software limit of the mo6.
It’s weird, what settings I have to compare in your opinion? The os of the two machines seems to be the same.
Thanks in advance for your answers. |

I don’t remember the MO6 (2005) having the ability to seamlessly switch between programs in Mixing modes - sorry it’s been many, many years since I played one. But I believe the feature was added to the MO-series when the MOX came out in 2010. It was always a feature of the Motif-series since the Motif classic. |

No, man...I don’t want to be able to sustain the notes on the first track after starting playing the second one.
With Motif Classic:
With MO6:
I hope now it’s clearer… :-) |

Thanks Bad Mister,
In that case: I have to organise my sounds in a different way. Thanks. |

They didn’t remove it, it never had it. It was less than half the price of the Motif ES when it came out some 9 years ago! So you could not/should not expect it to have all the features of the Motif ES (It’s bigger brother at that time). Right? Make sense?
It was added by the time the MOX (2010) came out and is available in the MOXF (2013), sorry, you are back in 2005 ...so it did not exist for the MO-series 9 years ago!!! Sorry, that may be the case.
But as I said my memory on such details gets fuzzy going back 3 models, make sure you have the most recent firmware for the MO6 - there was at least a couple of updates. Let us know. |

Today ,I updated the firmware from 1.01 to 1.02 (the latest available from the internet)but nothing changed.
It seems they cut this feature on purpose.
Anyway, I found another solution, playing the sound from a master, while keeping the other one sustained on the mo6 and after step off the pedal I switch the track. I obtain what I want in a different way..
However I’m satisfied of this machine...great sounds and very light weight. I will organize my sounds set up in a different way. No problem!!!

Not sure how you can conclude that… It was not available at the lower price point until the MOX (2010), plain and simple. The original Motif was more than twice the price of the MO, even with the four years difference. There is no conspiracy, if they could have included they would have. What about the price difference between the models (Motif vs MO) are you not getting? Glad you found a workaround. |
