Hi,

I have a Motif ES Rack digital output going to a Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 which then goes into Reason 7 in my computer.  I can’t seem to control the level coming out of the Motif anywhere in this chain and the signal is clipping.  What might I be missing?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums!

You cannot “control” the level of a digital signal as you are basically cloning it (copying zeroes and ones). You need to check your Audio interface, it is there that you make settings to accommodate the digital signal. Perhaps what you are hearing is a clocking error, and not distortion. It is not the Rack ES, nor is it Reason, it is a setting you need to make in your audio interface. Consult the documentation of that device.
