I’m curious about the relative “likeness” between an XF and a MOXF.  I viewed the MOXF manual and viewed the layout.  It appears similar to the XF with placement of various functions being in different locations.

Would the overall learning curve gong from an XF to a MOXF (generally speaking) be relatively easy for someone very familiar with the XF operation?

The Motif XF has sampling, 1 extra user bank,, 2 flash card slots, sliders and a beautiful colour display. Im nearly 100% they are the only things the MOXF hasn’t got.

And a decent keybed!

I’ve just got a MOXF6 having sold my Motif XS6 about 12 months ago and, apart from the small display, it seems to be very similar operationally to the XS but with and ES like display.

I’m finding my way around very easily without reference to the manuals.

more differences than that, see http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/469959/

but to the OP, right, the transition would not be difficult.

Thanks fellows.  Appreciate the feedback.  I play, record, compose on an XF at home, but at my age it’s a lotta weight to lug out to gigs.  Looks like an MOXF may be the answer

I extracted the features and specifications of both XF and MOXF from yamaha website for comparison purposes only. After reviewing it, it looks like MOXF is not a bad board at all. loaded with features. I may just get one. tired of waiting for their XF rack.

see the attached word file for comparison of XF vs MOXF.
