Hello all,

This is my 1st post (and cry for help) on the forum.
I have an XF8, and run ProTools 9 HD studio, with an assortment of external converters, preamps, etc.

Among other things, I compose for TV. I would like to control the XF8 via ProTools, in order to have easy access to MIDI and audio from ProTools. The XF8, aside from providing the amazing sounds, would be my master keyboard, and act as a multi timbral sound source.

My reason for wanting easy access to both MIDI and audio is that I’m often asked to adapt or edit music cues, so making any changes would, of course, be much faster if I didn’t need to switch platforms (between ProTools and XF8).

I’ve done hours of research, and am still unsure about how to proceed.
From what I’ve seen so far, the FW16E looks like it might be the answer?…
Is there anybody in a similar situation who could offer some advice?
I’d really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance,
Pierre
