I have a Motif ES6. I am using M-Audio track audio interface. the only DAW I have right now is Ableton Live “Light” edition. This edition only gives me 3 MIDI tracks and 5 audio tracks to work with and other limited features. What I want to know: Is it possible to somehow use the sound library from Komplete 9 on my computer that I installed, in the Motif ES6? For example: Battery 4 is a drum kit sound library. How can I get those sounds in the Motif and use the sequencer on the Motif to record music? I know it would be easier to get a DAW but I don’t have the money right now. Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance. |

The Motif ES cannot “load” sounds from any Library other than those created specifically for the Motif(classic)-series and Motif ES series synthesizers. You can sample or import audio that is 16-bit, up to 44.1kHz sample rate, if it is in .wav or AIFF format. If you want to use the Motif ES as a master MIDI keyboard controller, of course, it can trigger any MIDI device including computer based soft synths. But when using the ES as a controller keyboard the sounds do not necessarily come from the Motif ES… They still are generated by your computer program, not the Motif ES. So saying you are putting the sounds of something in the Motif ES is incorrect. It’s like this, you can press a key on the Motif ES and route it so that it triggers the drum sound coming from the software program Battery, for example. You can do this but the sound is coming from Battery, not the Motif ES. The Motif ES has its own sounds… Which you can choose to play or not play. When the ES is being used as a controller you disconnect the ES keys from triggering the ES sound engine. This is called LOCAL CONTROL OFF. Now instead of playing the ES all the time, you can route the key press to whatever other sound module you wish to hear. As long as they are all connected to your DAW software. Make sense? |
