I’m playing a s90xs as the master keyboard. I have a MOXFX6 as the slave hooked up via midi cable so I can layer the 2 keyboards sounds playing the s90xs. For live performance, I would like to be able to turn this off via a foot switch on the s90xs, or can it be assigned to a zone slider? This way, I’d be able to layer the sounds on one song, and use the 2 boards independently on the next song. Can this be done? Sorry, I’m a newbie when it comes to midi.

You want to learn how to use the MASTER mode… It is designed so that you can use the S90 XS/S70 XS:

S90 XS/S70 XS Master Mode -PDF

Set the KEYBOARD TRANSMIT CHANNEL = Off
This way when exit Master mode it breaks the connection to the MOXF6. And when activate Master mode your layer is active.

Please see the article, and if you have specific questions, post back here.

Thank you Phil. With your advice and a little bit of reading in the direction you pointed me, I figured it out. Great forum!
