Hi! I’ve stumbled over some problem with the left and right output. Only the left one sounds, in trouble shooting purposes I tried to connect my headphones to each output no matter if its connected to the right of left only the left sounds. I didn’t find anything in the UTILITY option but might have missed it? |

The left and right outputs are each mono. It is the combination of the two that gives you stereo. If you listen to either one alone, you will only hear one channel, and the two outputs heard that way will generally be essentially indistinguishable from each other unless you have things that are substantially panned such that you know to listen for them primarily out of just one output or the other. If your diagnosis were correct that only the left output sounds, then you would get nothing at all out of the right output. Since you are getting sound out of the left output and the right output, then both outputs are working. Since sound is coming out of each main output when monitored alone, can you describe the initial situation that led you to think that one side wasn’t working? |

That doesn’t indicate a problem. As a matter of fact, it seems to indicate that there is no problem with the line outputs. When you plug a Tip/Ring/Sleeve (TRS) type headphone plug into a TS type jack (meant for unbalanced output), only the Tip and Sleeve will make contact. The standard for headphones is that the left channel earpiece is connected to Tip and Sleeve. Therefore, plugging headphones into either the of the line outputs (L/MONO or R) will cause something to be heard only out of the left side of the phones. What happens if you plug the headphones into the PHONES jack? |
