Going from the article by Bad Mister, (MOX:Side by Side Volumes for Performance) I took a Performance, made a Song Mix Template, assigned it to a Master, etc., putting the 4 Parts into separate Zones. This process worked BUT I am now unable (I assume because it’s no longer technically a Performance) to access the ARP1-6 buttons, which kind of defeats the purpose. I tried using the same step by step, but substituting Performance for the Mode, instead of Song, but that didn’t work. I was hoping this would be a work-around for the lack of dedicated Part Sliders, but apparently not. But maybe there’s something I’m missing. If not, I’m wonder how others are dealing with this issue. As I’m experiencing it, I have to leave the main Play menu, hit Voice, then scroll to the Part I want to change, then use the assignable knob. An awful lot to fiddle with in the middle of a performance and it takes me away (again) from the Arp buttons. Anybody? |

You simply need to STORE your Arpeggios to the SCENE buttons. Follow the instructions to setup your side-by-side Volumes, as written. If your PERFORMANCE has arpeggios associated with it, you can Store them to the [SF] buttons of SONG mode (SCENEs may be new to you but they store various conditions of your Song Mixing setup including the currently selected arpeggio). When in doubt (rather than guessing) either look in the manual or simply ask a question, here. The ARPS can be selected while you are using your Song associated with the MASTER. Arps are designed with the sequencer in mind so it stands to reason there would be a way to recall them in Song mode, no? It takes about twenty seconds to setup. Here’s how:
Recall your MASTER
Press [ARP EDIT] button
Press [ARP EDIT] button
Press [ARP EDIT] button
Repeat for ARP 5 and 6 as necessary
Press [STORE] to update your SONG
Hope that helps. |

Thanks. I have just been reading other articles and threads about ways to utilize the Scene function (Mute tracks, or change Voice assignment) on the fly. But they were in the Motif XF forums, so wasn’t sure if the concepts would apply to MOX. When it comes to reading related threads about Pattern and Song creation in, say, a Motif XF, is it dangerous to assume those features and application instructions also apply to the MOX? |
