PERFORMANCE Mode is limited to (4) PARTS.

If you want 8 sounds (PARTS) controlled by 8 sliders you need to go to SONG or PATTERN Mode, and then possibly one step further to MASTER Mode.

Can you elaborate a little more about what you want to do?

Welcome to the forum.

Performance mode is limited to four Parts (Voices). Sequencer modes (Song or Pattern) can have up to 16 Parts. For layering, you’ll want them all on the same MIDI channel.
