Sure. For specific help with computer setups, we’ll need some information on your computer type, and operating system. A USB connection between the XF and computer will allow you to do MIDI recording on your computer (Cubase AI 5). Let us know what you have. |

Quick Start Guide: Motif XF USB-MIDI: Motif XF Editor Standalone/VST
This guide should get you started. The Editor can run inside of Cubase as a VSTi or you can run it as a standalone application along side your DAW. The advantage of running it inside of Cubase are multiple:
So even if you are not recording or routing audio, there is an advantage to using the EDITOR to select, control and manipulate the Motif XF hardware. When the EDITOR is ONLINE any changes you make in the software are immediately reflected in the hardware and vice versa. Also the MIDI DEVICE MANAGER list (we are going to try and have those posted here on Motifator somewhere)… are okay - they let you select a Motif XF Voice right in the Track Inspector - but they are really only good for the PRESET VOICES. As soon as you load some new sounds into the XF’s four USER Banks, that MIDI DEVICE MANAGER Voice List is outdated. The EDITOR on the other hand is always up-to-date with the click of a button! This should get you started, if you get stuck or have questions - post back here. |
