I still have my ES with Mlan & in great condition. It is sad that the Mlan I have on it is not compatible with the latest OS of Mac & even Snow Leopard that I have.I therefore have almost given up sequencing on the ES.
My question is,will I be able to send midi data atleast through the USB out into my DAW (Logic/Pro tools) to trigger VSTs? If so please let me know how to establish a midi connection via USB. My Apoggee Duet interface does not have midi capability unfortunately.

Thanks.

Connect the Motif ES to your computer with a USB cable
Press [UTILITY]
Press [F5] MIDI
Press [SF4] OTHER
Set MIDI IN/OUT = USB

go to http://download.yamaha.com

Select your country
Type in the Model Name: Motif ES
When the Search Results appear, verify: Motif ES

A lit of available items for your ES will appear
Download the USB-MIDI Driver for your particular computer type. Version 1.3.2

In the downloaded file is the INSTALLATION GUIDE which are the instructions for installing the driver… Please refer to it on how to install the driver to your particular computer operating system.

Once installed you will be able to select the “Yamaha Motif ES-1” (Port 1) is used for music performance.
