Hi!
I make my MIDI files in Logic Studio, export them as SMF (Standard Midi File).
Is there a way NOT to lose the song title when importing a SMF ?
Thanks....

It depends on your SMF creating program. When a SMF file is loaded to a Motif XF SONG or PATTERN the name will be imported if the program that created the file has the name inserted as a Meta Event. Sorry, I don’t know the ins and outs of Logic (haven’t used it since Emagic days) but for example, Cubase AI allows you to insert a SONG NAME within the EXPORT MIDI FILE window. Check your documentation in Logic because the “Song Name” is a global event similar to Tempo and Time Signature, etc. Do not mistake the name of the file with the SONG NAME (Song Name is a separate parameter).
For those using Cubase AI6 for example

Dear BadMister,
Thanks for your reply. I didn’t find it yet, but I know where to search for in Logic.
Thanks again ! |
