There is Voice compatibility (not Patterns, not Songs, not Performances, etc) just Voice compatibility. Sequences have to exported as SMF (Standard MIDI Files) and t From a previous post on this subject: .................. There is Voice Compatiblity between the Motif and the Motif ES. If you create a MIX and use all USER VOICES in the Motif - it will be a simple matter to load those into the Motif ES. The Motif ES can load ALL VOICE files (.w2v) that includes normal Voices, User Drum kits and includes all Samples used in the Voices or Drum kits. The Preset Voices are obviously in different locations. If you have used a Preset Motif Voice - copy it to a USER location and point your MIX to it. Then when you save as ALL VOICE (.w2v) all your sounds will be available in the Motif ES. Since you can load in User Voices you can make one of the two User Banks of the ES just like your current Motif User Bank. Theoretically speaking, each Preset Voice that you use in a (Motif) MIX can be edited and stored to the USER, and then it is a simple matter to load them in the ES. If you are just using the stock Preset sound then you will have to locate that sound in the new Preset Banks of the ES - it will most likely be in a different location (see the Data List for the ES - not all Voices from the original Motif made the cut to the new ES - so you had better check) A better method is to save any Preset sounds to your Motif USER bank and create an ALL VOICE (.w2v) file. This will guarantee that your sounds are converted. |
