Hey folks,

New to the Motif family after being a hardcore Korg user for 20+ years. Glad I made the switch. Awesome board!!! Thank you, Yamaha!!

My question is probably simple: I like to split layer sounds across the board. That part is no problem in performance mode. I want to be able to control the octaves in the splits of each voice and control if they are sustained or not. Is there a way to do that in performance mode or do I have to write a voice to the user bank that has the octave I need in the register I assign to the performance?

Thanks a bunch!!

Mac

Welcome.

A split in a Performance is called a Part.
Each Part has several parameters, as you already know,
and the one you need is: Note Shift.

Please read page 110 of the reference manual.

If you don’t have the manual, it is 36Mb (to big to attach here),
you can download it from:

You can also customize which PARTS respond to controllers.

From your PERFORMANCE
Press [EDIT]

There are two levels of editing: The COMMON and the PART
COMMON are edits that are overall
PART are edits that are setting for each individual VOICE used.

Press [COMMON EDIT] to see and access the overall settings
Press a PART SELECT button [1]-[4] to view each PART>

Both NOTE SHIFT (which lets you shift the pitch of each PART)
and RECEIVE SWITCH (which lets you customize which controllers are active) are found as PART parameter.

Press PART SELECT [1] to view PART 1’s parameters
Press [F1] VOICE
Press [SF1] VOICE
NOTE SHIFT is +/-24 semitones

Press [F6] RCV SWITCH to view the controllers for each PART. A red check means the controller is active. Clear the box to make it inactive for that PART>

Press [STORE] to update your PERFORMANCE>
