Just curious. Is the M-Xf connected to wired network? |

Hi rasikaw,
I’m going to go over all settings again and see if there was something I’m missing.
Thanks for the optimism and support. Chas |

Chas...I’d “store” configuration after disconnecting MIDI cable to DTX and reboot M-XF again. Just trying to isolate the issue by making sure WiFi MIDI is the only physical connectivity method. |

Hi rasikaw,
I’m not sure if my Factory Set has altered any of those previous settings, but it certainly can’t hurt to try it. Let’s hope that this corrects the bad behaviour, at the very least, removing one more parameter that could possibly be giving my apps these negative results. Eh, thanks for this overlooked hookup which could possibly be the culprit. I’ll give it a whirl, and see what happens… Check back in awhile, for news!! No, it changed nothing… I’m still getting the negative errors. I unplugged the DTX-Multi 12, rewrote all the app instructions to the Motif XF, pressed Store, powered down, powered up, set the iPad to Motif Wi-Fi network, and still nothing. The OUT red light blinks once when I press TRANSMIT in Voice Editor, Time Out error when the RECEIVE is pressed.
I’m not going to give up this easy. Life’s full of challenges and we manage somehow. So to me, this is simply just another mystery that needs further study and thought.

After the Factory Set, please check your Motif XF Host Name… it appears that it has changed during this thread and I wonder if you were accessing some one else’s Motif XF UTILITY mode settings… or it was just a TYPO. Remember when loading an ALL data file that YOU did not create to load “all without system”. |

I think that it could be useful to analyze iPad app logs.

I’m having a similar problem. I’m using:
iPad “3”
Absolutely nothing happens as far as editing multis on the XS. When I press the “Receive” button on the iPad/App, it gives me a timeout error. Also, as mentioned in someone’s previous post, the green light is always on, indicating a problem, I assume. I am able to send data to the XS and play notes from a MIDI monitor app. I’ve also tried using the iPad camera adapter through USB, as recommend by Yamaha support, and got the same results. Transmitting notes is fine, actually changing a Multi, impossible. I’ve done a factory reset on the XS. I’m sending data on MIDI channel 1. What other settings do I have to change? |

Hi toddquatier!
I hope that a fix or solution might be found soon. That was a huge chunk of change this iPad cost me. Not to have the apps working from day one, has been quite a large letdown. This is putting it mildly and politely. Chas |

Glad it’s not just me, but it’s still a kick in the head. The XS really needs a remote editing app. |

Hello everybody,
I wanted to say thanks to everyone who participated in the endevour to try and help me get these Yamaha iPad apps to set up and work, and now I have all of them playing their parts.
In the video, Rich demonstrated all the necessary steps to have the wireless connectivity.
I knew it had to be something very simple, which was being overlooked, as everything else was connecting.
Anyway, “That was easy...”!!
