Hi,

Anyone using the FW16e firewire thru port? What is the use of it? Can I thruput my DM 4800 firerwire to the pc?

That would be nice.......

The use of it is to daisy chain other FW devices to the computer. If the other device is a non-Yamaha audio interface don’t expect it to work when you are using the FW16e.

The FW board fo the Tascam DM4800 is also an ASIO driver. Shouldn’t this work than?

Unless something has changed in Windows 7, you can’t aggregate multiple audio drivers.

On top of that it’s not possible to lock the clocks of the FW16e and the Tascam.

Bottom line is you can only run one interface at a time.

The information in the Yamaha FW protocol and the Tascam are vastly different. Same wire but different data completely.
