recently picked up a used motif xf ,how can i reset it back to factory setting?
it has firewire installed but i want it set to midi when it starts up not fw.

also is there a way for me too combine more than one sound to a patch to make my own combinations ,and sounds ?
i would like to beable to layer sounds to make my own patch but have them set to same midi channel when using an external sequencer?

Press [UTILITY].
Press [JOB].
Select “All”.
Press [ENTER].
Press [YES].

See Page 18 of the XF Owner’s Manual.

Press [F5] (Control).
Press [SF2] (MIDI).
Set the MIDI In/Out parameter to MIDI.
Press [STORE].

You can easily do so in either PERFORMANCE or SONG/PATTERN MIXING mode.

Hi Badmann,
One of the handy methods of using those Motif XF manuals is the PDF format, downloaded to your desktop.
Makes clicking to and fro ‘referenced’ pages a breeze.

You might also consider placing both the Owner’s and Reference Manual on your USB thumb drive and having a hard copy printed and bound for yourself, at your local ‘Staples’, ‘Office Depot’ or other conveniant printer.
