Hi bassman697,
I would definately purchase that Motif XF8 with all those extra trimmings.
I don’t know what, where or when the next big YAMAHA workstation/synth will be released to the general public, but in the mean time, you could become very accomplished with the XF8.
That significant knowledge will help carry you into your next workstation. You would be well ahead of the learning curve.

The marvelous and very useful extras will bring you even more enjoyment and love for your instrument/investment.

If I had the choice to buy or wait, I wouldn’t wait.
I mean, life is short, why waste time looking over the fence.
The grass is not always greener on the other side.

If and when something new is produced, that can be a future goal.
Many folks who buy an XF8 are practically tapped for cash after. Whereas you have this most wonderful opportunity, to get a huge gift pack with this purchase.

I’m sure which ever choice you make, will be the correct direction for you. I think it’s great though, that you put so much trust and faith in the hands of the Forum members. Ultimately the decision will be yours.
I’m glad I was given this opportunity, to have my voice heard here.
My last thought, If Yamaha was looking to simply unload a ship full of Motif XF8’s they could simply have lowered the price significantly. Instead they’ve given you more than ample reason to bite the bullet.

Good luck, and enjoy your time spent at Motifator Forum.

Chas

Thanks for your guidance & encouragement.

I will place my XF8 order & take advantage of the promo pack.

Keep your eye open for more promos and rebates. I got got a flyer today from Guitar Center. XF6 has a $200 instant rebate. XF8 has a $350 instant rebate. Add that to the $800 promo pack and thats quite the deal. Possibly other store have similar rebates going on. Shop around :-)

Be sure and compare this package at KraftMusic.com:

• Yamaha MOTIF XF8

• Kraft Music STAGE ESSENTIALS BUNDLE adds:
• Gator GKPE88TSA Hard Shell Case
• On-Stage KS8291 Keyboard Stand
• Yamaha FC4 Sustain Pedal
• USB Flash Drive

All this for $3600, free shipping, no tax, and 12 months no-interest financing.

No, I don’t work for them! (This is the bundle I bought, and it was a great deal even without the 10th Anniversary Yamaha package).

Hello
What is that 10th Anniversary Yamaha package you are talking about?
I have bought my XF week ago, and there was no extras there :(((
I guess it is up to the dealer or shop, right? Well, here in Poland no such things :( So what did I miss with such promo?>
Greetings

For US buyers:
http://www.yamaha.com/Motif10th/

However, there are free things available to European buyers - DVDs and sound libraries. They’re mentioned in almost every issue of the Music Production Guide, available from Easy Sounds. You might want to get a subscription (free) and read both the current and back issues.

Hey I think you should make it about the music, and not the gear. If something new comes out, and you want it bad enough, the Motif XF8 would definitely be an easy sell to get you close to what you need to buy the next one. I have done this before.

you’re right Techman.

Now that I’ve FINALLY made my decision after much deliberation, I can get on with the music without looking back.

Besides, December 2012 no more Earthlings, no more us.
Only Harps and Angel Choirs...if you’re worthy, you’ll be there.

Not to take off topic...but I understand the Mayans said “end of an age” not “end of the planet”...but be ready...for the truth shall set you free

back to our original programming.....

I went through more end-of-the-world’s than weekends.
