I like how I can go to my control panel and check for the latest version of my Yamaha steinberg FW Driver. And it takes me straight to where I’m supposed to be.
But how come the version Yamaha steinberg FW Driver v1.7.0 is already out and we’re still messing with version V1.07 on WINDOWS. Is it me or is this for real? When is the V1.7.0 coming out for windows please, I’d like to know.

By the way in my control panel for Yamaha steinberg FW Driver under the tab MOTIF XS8, there is an IDENTIFY waiting to be clicked. Do I have to click this button every time I go there for any reason?

Driver versions for Mac OS and Windows need not be the same. The latest drivers for the Motif XF can be downloaded from the link below.

The IDENTIFY option identifies the equipment connected to your computer that uses the Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver. There could be more than one piece of hardware using the same driver and that is where this option is handy. Also, it gives you a confirmation that the equipment can communicate with the driver on your computer. You don’t need to click it every time though.

Also, 1.07 is the current version for the Firmware of your FireWire (IEEE1394) interface for the XS (if you have the mLAN16E2 installed).
