Would connecting the Classi-8 to an SCSI hard drive, increase the store/recall speed compared to the memory card?

No, it would not. SCSI if you could still find a drive would offer you larger storage sizes but not necessarily faster speeds. SCSI systems were commonplace 10 or 15 years ago.
