In PATTERN mode, I want to merge two presets- say PRE-38/39.

Under PATCH, I have both phrases in TRK-1&2;and they are in USER-1&2;.

How do I merge these so that USER-1 goes on in MEAS 1-5 and USER-2 goes n MEAS 6-9?

I have tried JOB- PHRASE- Put Phrase in SONG etc, but not had any luck.

Thank you for any guidance.

First you need to determine the LENGTH of each of the DRUM PHRASES. From what you wrote it sounds like you have already converted the PRESET DRUM PHRASES to USER DRUM PHRASES.

Excellent. you cannot Edit or change PRESETS, you must first transfer their data to a USER PHRASE.

When you are on the [F4] PATCH screen you can see the 16 TRACKS and the location to select one PHRASE for each.

When you select the TRACK with “usr001” the Phrases Length will appear on the top line of the screen, for example, it might read “M004” indicating a Four Measure Phrase.

You do not tell us the length of the phrases. This is very important information concerning a direct answer to your question. you can only do as you ask if the “usr001” = M005 and “usr002” = M004

Is that the case? If so… then

You can APPEND “usr002” on to the end of “usr001” by using the PATTERN mode JOB: APPEND PHRASE

press [JOB]
Press [F4] PHRASE
Select the JOB: APPEND PHRASE

The Phrase you want to add to the END is considered “A”, the target is considerd “B”

So you want to APPEND 002 onto the END of 001

A = Phrase usr002
B = Phrase usr 001

Press ENTER to execute.

The new usr001 will be M009
the first 5 measures will sound like the old usr001, and the next 4 measures will sound like usr002… the whole phrase will be 9 measures in length.

The usr002 will remain as it was still M004 in Length.
