I didn’t see this on download.yamaha.com.  Where did you find it?  All I see is the USB driver and the YC-3B.

http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?category_id1=16277&category_id2=16381&product_id=1464170

dont think they’ve tagged it to MOX yet on the synth selection drop-down - if you select MOX it disappears

I believe Phil Bad_Mister said that Yamaha was going to be putting all their downloads and OS upgrades at a central conveniant location.

That above addy will likely be it.

That’s why the Motif XF OS v1.30 also, released for NAMM weekend, wasn’t placed at the regular http://www.yamahasynth.com or here at http://www.motifator.com/ .

Thanks!  I’m not sure I want to try it until it is “official” (tagged for MOX6/8).

So I installed it - everything seems ok so far - new stuff appears on the utility menu - autopoweroff.

It takes about 5 minutes I guess - note that the first reboot sits at the MOX splash screen for a bit longer than normal - suppose that’s when it installs the new O/S

Somehow oliver I dont really see how the keyboard sounds themselves can have changed, esp in a minor update like 0.01, but its still a nice sentiment. Maybe bad mister can elaborate on whether or not the A/D inputs have had any improvements, and if so, which ones

I’ve just finish the update and so far so good. First I got a “file error” when I used a cheap no-name (yet functional) USB thumb drive. Once I tried a higher quality thumb drive everything worked as expected.

V1.00 to V1.01

- A rehearsing function for use during recording has been newly added.
- An Auto Power Off function has been newly added.
- Fixed a problem in which the category for the Voice might not be switched normally when using the Category Search function.
- Other minor problems have been corrected.

Nothing for a better microphone input? Has any tried that?

There has never been an improvement in sound quality with an OS (firmware) upgrade, ever, in any Yamaha product. Audible improvements in sound quality are a function of hardware changes, not software changes.

There has been no change in the hardware in the MO X. It’s fun to “imagine” an improvement in sound quality because of a firmware update, but that is imagination at work.
