Can you program a system exclusive message and assign that message to a slider/fader, knob etc… on the motif XF? 

I’m trying to see if it would be possible to send system ex. messages to an external synth to manipulate certain parameters.
(what I’m attempting to do won’t respond to cc messages, only system ex.)

No. You can enter System Exclusive messages into the XF sequencer.
