That’s because it is a YouTube channel - not a link to download MIDI files. He’s saying, “Take a look at my You Tube channel”, not “Visit my YouTube channel for links to MIDI files”. It would have been better if you had put “I am looking for the MIDI file to Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’” in your first post. Anyway, if you’re looking for “good” MIDI files of a particular song, you should search for the MIDI files for that song, by title. For example, go to Google or yahoo search and type in “MIDI File for “Fix You” by Coldplay”. Here’s a link to one of the MIDI files of the song: http://www.cool-midi.com/download/coldplay-fix_you.htm Can you be certain it’s a “good” MIDI file? No..you have to try it out for yourself. Here’s the thing - as someone posted, MIDI files of songs are designed to play back GM bank sounds (they;’re in the “GM” bank on your Motif). So they’re limited to that standard set of sounds, which may not be suitable for the song. Second, the quality of the MIDI file is based on the skill of the person who created it. Some people are better at making MIDI files of songs than others. I can tell you this from experience - most of the MIDI files you download for free are poor. That’s what you get for free. If you want something that sounds just like the song, that is what is called a “soundalike”, and has to be programmed skillfully by someone who does sound design and music production, and is recorded as audio - just like any CD track. For example of soundalikes, check this “Classic Rock Synths” MP3 demo for the DCP library “Vintage Keys” - you will hear that it is what sounds like portions of classic rock songs, joined together: http://shop.motifator.com/index.php/voice-libraries/motif-xf/vintage/vintage-keys-xf.html You can hear that the tracks in this demo sound like the original songs - they were done by me, using my own ears, various sound sources, and effects. None of it was MIDI sequences I got off the internet, I just used my two ears to make “copies” of the original tracks. I think what you want is a “soundalike” sequence. People like me charge money for that, if that’s what you need. You can contact me via private message if you are interested in having some created for you. My charge is $400 per song. |
