Every time I try to recorda track, it never gets past the opening metronome clicks; the record function shuts off. Everything else on my Motif works fine. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be, and if there’s a simple solution?

For basic stuff like this - the Owner’s Manual is an excellent place to start.

The only help we can give you here, short of rewriting the steps in the manual is to tell you that it is fairly straight ahead.

Start by telling use what you are setting on the main SETUP screen.

Here’s what I mean (and its what you LEFT out of your post):
Are you in SONG mode or PATTERN mode?
You press the RECORD button, this places you on the RECORD SETUP screen… where you must make some settings.

Providing the settings that you made, would be the important information

Record TYPE? TRACK? Time Signature? Tempo? any other information that you have to setup.

I’m in both song and pattern mode. I set up 4/4 and 8/4 on the time signature, tempo is 94. Once I try to record, I get the metronome clicks, and then nothing; record just shuts off.
