Anyone using the recently released 6.0.5?

I had problems when I updated to 6.0.3, particularly with my East West plug-ins, so I am a little concerned as to whether 6.0.5 is stable.  There doesn’t seem to be any problems reported on the Steinberg forum, so I guess it’s OK.

Even so, it would be nice to see if anyone has any experience here.

Hi Peter,
Actually, I just jumped from 6.02 to 6.05, and all seems well so far. I’ve used Cubase about 6 or 7 hours since I updated without a hitch. One thing I did discover though...it’s extremely important to download the very latest elicenser driver. I’d updated that about two weeks ago, but still had to download and install the one from Nov. 15.

Yes. 6.03 was NOT a good release, and that’s why I stayed with 6.02 for so long. Hope the update works out well for you. Cheerio...........frank

Sounds good Frank.  I’ll give it a go.  (Good advice about the e-licencer).

Cubase 6.05 works perfectly. downloading and installing the latest E-licenser first is a must.

When you update Cubase, at the beginning of the installation it appears to go through a sequence of updating the e-licencer. At least, a screen with e-licencer logo and information comes up.

What’s happening there?

Peter,

Did you install that latest e-licenser of Nov. 15 first, before you installed Cubase 6.05 update? If so, I think you can ignore that e-licenser screen. Altough I do not remember seeing that screen popping-up during installing 6.05. However, I am not sure about that either.

I can confirm what Jan mentioned....and I’m on a Mac. When I installed 6.05, there was no mention of updating the e-licenser. However, I did have an e-licenser warning when I tried to start Cubase, and that’s how I discovered that an update was required.....frank

Hmm, might be a pc thing.  I actually installed 6.0.5 and then updated my e-licencer.  Anyway, all is well, but I should like to know what that screen was about, I still have a view that it was updating my e-licencer.  I have seen it before on previous updates, so next time it comes up I will look at it more closely and maybe get a screen shot.

I understand, Peter. Over the years, nearly all update and upgrade installtions also included a screen re. the elicenser during the installation process...on both Macs and PCs. This time though...on my Mac...it didn’t. Personally, I wouldn’t worry about it though. :) As long as you have the latest e-licenser, you should be ‘good to go’, no matter whether you installed it before or after the update.........frank
