I have a new copy of cubase 6 which comes with Halion Sonic.  Inside halion are all these cool organ sounds I would like to transfer to my mox6.  How do I do that?

You can’t. The MOX does not have sampling capability (cannot load “.wav’s”. Since the Halion Sonic sounds use “.wav’s” it is impossible to
load Halion Sonic sounds to the MOX.

Many of the HALion Sonic SE sounds are derived from Motif-series sounds (same as your MOX6) - so you may be able to find or recreate any particular organ you hear in HALion in your MOX.

How do you do that?  That is, in halion does it show all parameters and settings that make any of the sounds?  Then I would enter those corresponding numbers and settings in the mox?

No, it doesn’t work that way. Some of the sample waveforms (what you would call “wav’s” are from Yamaha, but you cannot “translate” Halion Sonic sounds to MOX.

There is no way to load or recreate the Halion Sonic sounds in the MOX.
Trust me, I’m one of the Yamaha programmers who programmed sounds for
Halion Sonic. What you want to do is simply not possible.

Why don’t you just trigger the Halion Sonic sounds on your PC and use
them that way?

I guess so.  I’ll bring my notebook pc to the job tonight and try it.  I am very computer literate but have no idea how all the midi sound environment pieces connect.

My halion sonic is new and in trial mode but I own cubase 6.  Will these sounds work all night or how exactly does it expire?

Glad to have spoken to the ‘horse’s mouth’!

I don’t know when they expire, but whenever they do, you will see a message on your screen that is something like “the Halion Sonic demo has
expired’ and you will not hear anything from Halion Sonic.
