The MO-X has several QUICK SETUP templates that makes it a no-brainer to make all the necessary settings for your MO-X when working with a computer DAW (be it Cubase or any other DAW). These QUICK SETUPS are worth a read in the manual.
If you want to record MIDI and/or AUDIO into your DAW QUICK SETUP #1.
This will turn LOCAL CONTROL = OFF disconnecting the MO-X keybed from the MO-X tone engine. Now in order for you to complete the circuit you will need to send MIDI data to a SONAR track set to receive MIDI on PORT 1 from the MO-X and that Track must be set to ECHO the signal back to the MO-X via MIDI on PORT 1 on the MIDI channel you want to sound. Each Sonar Track will be assigned a MIDI channel and when you select that track you will be in communication with the MO-X PART assigned to the MIDI channel of that track. Your questions are really about operating Sonar - we have a forum here on Motifator where SONAR users can share tips and tricks. |

OK Thanks for replying..
I know the problem is not about recording because I can record the audio (wave) of the output from the MOX when playing over performances, and I can record the MIDI of the notes I played also. I used the quick setup 1 for that. Its just the playback of the MIDI tracks on the MOX that is not happening as it should be.

Solved! Just needed to open the MOX editor from within the Studio Manager, and put the editor online, and you are ready to go. This is the big difference between controlling the PSR and the MOX from within the DAW. The Editor must be open for your channel settings in the DAW to work in the MOX, as it does the handshaking with the MOX. In the PSR, you could control it directly from the DAW. But once the Editor is opened, you can do so much more than setting which voice to play. You can actually change all the voice parameters, to the finest details. Things have certainly moved on. Only thing I cant do right now is triggering arpeggios in the MOX from the midi note in the DAW. That would be the icing on the cake. But you cant ask too much. Now I am beginning to realise the awesome power that lies under your fingers with the MOX. Believe the hype! |
