hi, i’m still looking around for a new axe, i’ve read through the motif manual, and i had a few more questions for motif users. - on my k2600, i can set up complex voices where i can map the parameters of the elements of the voice—including enabling an element—to any of about 120 different midi sources. it seems that w/the motif xf8, i’m limited to 12 sources, is that right? - is there a way to specify a keyrange where an element in a voice will be active? - on my kurz, i can record a sequence and play it back as part of a performance by striking a key. depending on where i’ve set the root key for the sequence, it will play back automatically transposed to the key i press. i found how it’s possible to create a pattern on the motif and play it back as part of a performance, but i can’t find anything about automatic transposition. is this possible? - i do a lot of recording to my kurz using it as the master for 2 other synths. i’m guessing this is possible w/the motif too, but i can’t see how from the manual. i see where i can set a track’s -transmit- channel to internal or external, would that also be valid for -receiving- on that channel? - my other synths transmit all sorts of midi data for their various controllers, which i record along w/note on/off events in the sequencer. that’s how i control the external synths’ resonance, reverb, etc. during playback. i noticed that the motif’s pattern recorder is very limited regarding what kinds of control information it can record. does the song sequencer also have the same limitations? thanks much for the info. |

1. You have way many more options to map your parameters. Just to begin with: 8 knobs (at least 3 functions so you really have “24” knobs), 8 sliders, two assignable functions, ribbon, mod wheel, pitch bend, 2 foot controllers. All of those are MIDI CC and are mapped to many different parameters…
