Nice work. It has an intrique theme. The melody line in contrast with the accomp does sound very pleasant to me and keeps the listner alert on what lies ahead in the song. LOL

Thanks for your input. That song was done rather quickly, as was the following one (in under an hour). I’ve been working on some other stuff but that will have to wait.

P.S. Jan, you should think about doing an EP or an album. Anyone can do it, and besides, you can promote your work so that others have a chance to listen to your work. Motifator is a great place to share and discuss with other musicians and music-lovers, of course, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg in the grand scheme of things.

SteelyFan,

I appreciate your suggestion that I should make an EP or promote my music on other sites, maybe like soundcloud, or others. To tell you the true, I have done that on several music sites not with the intention to sell my music, but just for the fun. I have stopped doing that, because most of those music promotion sites are membered by musicians or would be musicians who only are interested in getting as much of friends or hits on their links to achieve an high rate on the charts. or whatever.

Frankly I do not need to make money on the music market. I am 69 now and I have worked as a session musician in the years 1964 till 1967 and stopped with that because I did not like the Jazz scene and playing in smokey clubs and so on. Not healthy anyway. LOL. In the 60’s most of the music were live gig’s or studio work.

So I am posting on mo-forum because it is relaxed and people are not so terrible competitive. LOL

People seem to have this misconception about music-creation, as if it must be done in order to be part of a competition or popularity contest. I create music because I love the art, period. That said, creating an EP or album doesn’t necessarily entail competing with others, nor does it mean that you’re obligated to charge for it or tour, but that’s ultimately your decision.

Best wishes.

hey just stopping back to say ‘sup. I finally saw your response steely.

I’m still chipping away at music projects…

One thing I thought you could do, once you feel you’ve written enough, is to share a *zip with us of all these tracks.

Or not, I could go through and download them one by one!

alright! Peace

Sorry JDSY but there’s a limit to how much you’re allowed to upload here at once.

Here’s something I finished yesterday.

I got sick during the week and didn’t compose. But tonight I managed to put together this piece in a little over an hour. I used GameBoy sounds this time around. Hope you like.

SteelyFan,

I have listened to all last three new posted songs of you and they are as always nice constructed and very pleasant to listen to.

All three have that kind of SEGA Game signature as I can remember the music on the SEGA games I played long time ago. It has the same drive and structure. Of course I could be totally wrong about this.

Thanks jan. It’s funny that you mention Sega because the last piece really wasn’t attempting to sound Sega-ish. They did employ a wide variety of great musicians back in the day, such as Tokuhiko Uwabo, aka Bo, Yuzo Koshiro, and so forth.

Lately I’ve been working on some avante-garde pop/folk/jazz kind of stuff, although I’ve yet to come up with lyrics and some songs linger without being 100% finished, but it would be a mistake to rush those. They have to match my expectation of quality. Until they’re finished, I’ll post some more stuff in the interim.

Glad you enjoy it. Here’s an arranged version. I touched up the instrumentation and transposed it from Bb minor up to D minor.
