I’m new to xs7 and have many questions on creating arps....
I record 2 bars of drums on track 1, bass on track 2,guitar on track 3 of a pattern.........
I select put track to arp
Do i do this for each track??

I am also not clear on selection of track for arp track

I selected track one for arp1 track2 for arp 2 and 3 for 3

I looked in the archives but did not find what i was looking for.......

Is there a power user manual for creating and recording arps?

Thank you............

Yes. Each arpeggio is assigned to a single sound. So yes, each of your three tracks can be the source for a separate Arpeggio. The drum track should be used to create a DRUM ARPEGGIO. The bass track should be used to create a BASS ARPEGGIO. The guitar track should be used to create a GUITAR ARPEGGIO.

Play though the arpeggios - see (and understand) that each arpeggio type plays and is assigned to a single VOICE. Drum data is meaningless to a bass sound or guitar sound. Bass data is meaningless to a drum or guitar, and Guitar data is meaningless to a drum kit or bass sound.

Drums should be converted using the “Fixed Note” Type
Bass and Guitar data should be converted using the “Original Note” Type

First convert you drum groove to an arp.
Highlight the DRUM track
Press [JOB]
Press [F5] TRACK
Select “Put Track to Arpeggio”
Set the dialog box so that you are converting just the DRUM Track (1) to ARP 001 using the FIXED NOTE convert type.

in a separate operation - convert you Bass line to an arp
Highlight the BASS track
press [JOB]
Press [F5] TRACK
Select “Put Track to Arpeggio”
Set the dialog box so that you are converting just the BASS track (2) to ARP 002 using the ORG NOTE convert type.

Rinse and repeat for the Guitar track..

thank you B_M for your reply........
I follow those steps for converting track 1 (drums) and it is fine..

when i try to convert track 2 (bass) i see this:
under arp trk 1: trk 2: fixed
under arp trk 2: off
under arp trk 3: off
and so on....

in category :
for main: Drpc
sub : rock
arp no 001

i switch category to : Bass
leave sub as : rock
arp no stays 1
select trk2 for arp trk 2
and select original note
and enter to convert

i go back and check the arp for drum track and it is playing the bass arp instead of the drum arp.........

I think i am not clear on the relationship between selecting category, arp trk and trk.....
Please explain........
Thank you..........

”arp no stays 1"- that is your mistake.

Your bass arp is arp number 002. As I said “in a separate operation… “
You’ve finished the drum arp. The bass arp is separate instrument, separate notes, will be assigned to a separate Voice.
