just came from guitar center, spent about 2 hours checking out Mox (and XF). Mox6 and XF8 were side by side so i could compare them a bit. (The MOX6 Key Feel is just like m-audio keystudio 49 midi controller, kinda cheap) The MOX has much less performances than I thought, much less than XF. Another thing a bit disapointing is when searching for performances in category search mode, after pressing Enter to got to main disapley out of category search the MOx kinda stops for a second and some sounds kinda hang than it goes to main performance display. Voices I gotta check again, I spent alot of time comparing them to XF and they seem to sound a bit different, I think it just seems to sounds different, so I gotta check it out again. |

Dear Kinda Sorta- The Mox6/8 costs less that an XF. You know that? Why would you expect the Mox to stand up in a 1 to 1 to an XF? Not to mention that it is based on the XS-not the XF. Keys just like an M-Audio 49 key. I have both. No way. The keys are about what you’d expect to see in a $1200 keyboard-no more/no less. Trouble is with so called comparisons-they are NOT ever the same keyboard. People know that (supposedly> Yet they make these conclusory statements that are unsupported by the facts or already know by looking at the specs. So what do I think? On a dollar for dollar basis-it’s much like the top of the line PSR’s 740, S900 etc; only done in synthesiser syle instead of keyboard style. Excellent feature sets and really good value & performance for the money. What more could you ask for? If you your looking for XF features-buy an XF. What’s so hard to figure out about that? |

I too just got back from checking the MOX out at G.C. in my case, there was an XS Rack right next to it.

I tend to agree with the previously posted comments. I likewise spent 2 plus hours in a quiet Sam Ash Store. The MoX is a smart cool keyboard. But for “my ears” there is some sonic intangible quality missing in the MoX and makes the “XS” the way to go for me as a performing musician. Maybe its an electronic audio component or something else technical,… design wise. But I do know “XS” owners and “ES” owners should kiss their keyboards because they will deliver fully sound wise where it counts....on the stage. |
