Alright, my first post, and only because I have always been able to search the threads and find the answer to my questions, but this time, I must be blind, I can not seem to find an answer for this.

Whenever I am in my zone, I plug in my USB stick, load a previous file I want to work on, and record different patterns for hours, and many times I forget which file I was working with on my USB, and when I go to save, I don’t remember which one it was I was using, and I sure as heck dont want to overwrite an unloaded file on accident (yes which I have done). I know, amateur mistake, but there has got to be a way to see what file from my USB stick I currently have loaded on the motif?!?!

If you don’t give songs and patterns proper names you can’t know.
And, as the ES stores all files by date ‘null’ (1-1-1980) you can’t
determine what file was newest.
You’ll have to make notes.

well the problem isn’t the remembering names of patterns and songs, i’ts the names of the files that hold the 64 patterns.

Of course I meant the filenames.
I trust you give those files meaningful names.
