I notice in the description of the Motif XF that there are additional arpeggio patterns as well as additional wave ROMs that are new and that were thus not included in the Motif XS.

I am new to Motif and not knowledgeable enough to answer this myself…

Is it possible to load those new arpeggio patterns and wave ROMs into a Motif XS?  If so, does anybody know where I can download them?

No, it is not possible to import Motif XF data to the Motif XS.

In general, you can go the way up: Motif->ES->XS->XF,
but NOT the other way.

Thanks for the responses.  That helps me with a decision to get a Motif Rack XS now or to wait until a Motif Rack XF comes (if there will even be a Motif Rack XF...haven’t seen anything on it yet).

There will be, but not now of course.

But the XF uses the same arp file format as the XS (.X0G).

The real problem would be getting the preset arps into an .X0G file. I don’t know any way of copying a preset arp into a user arp location so it could be exported.

For the Motif XS Users I am very glad to announce that the latest
version of Motif Waveform Editor 1.4.0

supports copying Motif XF Voices with User Arps and Samples
to Motif XS X0A files!

The only catch is that if the XF Voices are using Preset
Arps or Waveforms that do not exist in the XS these are set to off.

So now is possible to have the new voice bank USER 1 from Motif XF on XS. Of course, you need to replace the samples that are not on XS ROM. Great news!
