When i drag and drop the midi from the maschine into logic it automically puts them onto channels from my motif.

How do I change the settings for my midi tracks to point to maschine and not my motif?
I know my Motif is currently set on port 1.

I am looking to create drum patterns using the Maschine and use the sounds from my motif.

Much Thanks.

MIDI Port assignments are made from the library. Open it or create new External MIDI Tracks and assign them to the port that corresponds to the Maschine

Actually i made a slight mistake.
They are assigned automatically to General MIDI channels.

Sorry, can you please take me through the steps that will allow the MIDI data from my maschine to point back to the maschine and not GM Device once dragged onto software instrument tacks.

Much Thanks.

Does the Maschine port(s) show up in the Library? On the Toolbar select Media>Library. Choose the correct Maschine port and the proper MIDI channel…

I’m sorry, my son has a Maschine but, I don’t. I do know that you have to install the drivers. Have you done that? The Maschine manual will also explain how they will appear in Logic. I believe they’ll show up as a software instrument but, that’s an educated guess at this point…

this would be on the native instruments website right?
i had a quick browse of the user manual and i couldnt find anything on using maschine as a plug-in inside a DAW.

I’ll ask my son when he gets home from school today. I’m not sure whether he uninstalled Logic or not but, I’ll check…
