Here is what I found @ YamahSynth…

[V1.00 to V1.12]

New Features;
-Convert a Sample Voice to a Mixing Voice.
-Edit a Waveform on the optional Flash Memory Expansion Module by using the newly added Sampling Job.
-Normalize, Slice, and Remix have been added to the Sampling Edit display and Sampling Main display respectively, allowing you to more easily call up these displays.
-Increase the available memory of the Flash Memory Expansion Module by using the newly added Sampling Job.
-The method of the Key Bank number assignment has been changed from the previous version.
-You can load WAV or AIFF files in a single folder at the same time. The loaded files will be assigned to the keys in alphabetical order from the specified key.
-You can load the file without FL1, FL2 Bank Waveforms, even if the corresponding file contains Waveforms.
-Arpeggio Types can be selected from Category Search.
-Waveforms can be selected from Category Search.

Solved Problems;
- Fixed a problem in which the instrument will freeze with “Executing...” displayed when entering the Sampling Edit mode from Voice or Performance mode and then executing the Slice operation.

I find it kind of funny how people say Yamaha doesn’t support their products, yet look how quickly the XF is getting an update.

They resolved little bugs, but added lots of new features ;-) What a support team.

Thank you and keep it up a good work.

Will there be a manual addendum for the OS v1.12, or this is reserved for some future revisions which may add major features?

I believe all XFs in the USA were shipped with OS version 1.10.  All of the updates listed for 1.12 are already operational in any XF at 1.10.  The only change appears to be this bugfix:

-Fixed a problem in which the instrument will freeze with
Executing...” displayed when entering the Sampling Edit mode from Voice or Performance mode and then executing the Slice operation.

The download is a zipped file, you must unzip it on your computer. The main (.PGM) file should be placed in root directory of a USB drive compatible with your XF.

Once you open the folder you will find several PDF documents that describe the new features (mostly added in 1.10). This document is in several languages (hopefully one near you).

Also included is the all important v112README.txt file. We highly recommend that you do (read it). Read it through once, then follow it step-by-step. We could repeat it here, but life is short :)

It will tell you all you need to know.

I’d imagine that loading then deleting Waveforms from the Flash memory would ultimately cause fragmentation. Will there be a “defragmenter” function for the Flash memory, like the one that exists for the Sample RAM?

It’s already there on F6 of Utility mode. It’s called Optimize.

Be glad that Yamaha is so quick with updates!
I wish Roland had the same attitude towards their Fantom G.
Anyone care to trade a Motif XF for my Fantom G8?
